Our 2009-2010 season continues with The Carpetbagger's Children. Ben Brantley of the New York Times noted: "Few dramatists today can replicate this kind of storytelling with the gentle mastery that Mr. Foote provides in his 90-minute portrait of the decline of one fractious family in the small Texas town of Harrison."
The Carpetbagger's Children was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and won the 2002 American Theatre Critics/Steinberg New Play Award.
Bob Hicks of The Oregonian notes that The Carpetbagger's Children "digs deep into the same rich ground that Foote walked for most of his life."

The year of Horton Foote!
Horton Foote's work and legacy continue to make news and earn accolades across the country. The Orphans' Home Cycle -- including plays such as Courtship, Valentine's Day and 1918 which were enjoyed by Profile audiences this season -- was recently the focus of a feature article in the New York Times as well as a thoughtful tribute in the Christian Science Monitor.
In fact, a critically-acclaimed production of The Orphans' Home Cycle will be making the move to Broadway this fall. In addition, a new scholarship for playwrights in honor of Horton Foote will be unveiled this fall.
In short, this is the year of Horton Foote! Theatregoers will have more opportunites to savor his exceptional work at Profile Theatre this season, as The Oregonian recently reported.
